Do you accept insurance?

Our therapists are out-of-network providers. If you'd like to use your out-of-network benefits, we can provide you with the necessary information to submit an out-of-network claim with your insurance. We do not accept TennCare or Medicaid.

When is my payment processed?

Payment is processed at the beginning of each session. If a payment method is declined, you will be asked for a different payment method.

Can I speak to someone to learn more about your therapists and their approaches?

Absolutely! Simply call, email, or fill out the contact form on our site. One of our therapists will reach out to answer your questions.

How do I schedule my first session?

Call, email, or fill out the contact form, and one of our therapists will contact you. You will be asked to complete a few online forms so we can better understand your needs. After completing the forms, you'll be scheduled either with the therapist of your choice or a therapist that fits your needs if you have no preference.

What can I expect during my first session?

Your first session will involve a two-way conversation during which your therapist will ask you questions to get to know you. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, too. We'll review the information that you completed online, identify some goals, and discuss treatment length. At the end, you and your therapist will schedule your next session(s).

What will subsequent sessions look like?

Every session looks a little different depending on your goals; however, your therapist will check in with you to see how things have been since your last session and assess your progress. Your therapist is here to encourage you and challenge you to grow, and there are a number of ways to approach that depending on your situation.

How many sessions should I expect?

The length of treatment is determined by you and your therapist. Some clients see their therapist once per week for 6-10 weeks and then no longer feel a need for regular appointments. Some clients will reduce from once per week to 1-2x per month at that point, and some people prefer to schedule maintenance sessions every month or two.

Can I bring someone with me to my session?

Many of our therapists are trained to work with couples and families, so we encourage you to discuss this with your therapist before inviting a guest to your session. After you and your therapist decide that a guest (or guests) would benefit your therapeutic progress, you'll be asked to signed a Release of Information (ROI), which allows your therapist to discuss your situation with the guests you designate. It's important to note that guests are not clients of Anchor Creek Counseling, and should reach out if they'd like to continue seeing a therapist individually.

What do I do after I’ve met my therapeutic goals?

Celebrate! Ultimately, Anchor Creek wants you to reach your goals. Some clients feel ok with not attending therapy anymore, but many clients reduce their frequency and schedule regular maintenance appointments (once a month, once every 6-8 weeks, once every 3 months). If you've not scheduled an appointment in the last year, you'll have to complete new intake paperwork.

How do I contact my therapist?

Each therapist and situation is different; your therapist will communicate how you should contact him/her. You can always call or email us as well. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or one of the support hotlines linked on our crisis resources page.

How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

The best way to cancel or reschedule is sending a request using your Patient Portal. Your therapist will be notified of the request, and you’ll be able to see when the appointment change has been confirmed. Please note that appointments canceled with fewer than 24 hours' notice will incur a 50% charge.

What is your cancelation policy?

We know things come up and schedules change. We require 24 hours' notice on all cancelations and changes. Cancelations made within 24 hours of the appointment time will incur a 50% charge.

I'm in crisis. What should I do?
